The Copyright Tribunal was established under the Copyright Act 1968. It has the power to:- inquire into the amount of royalty payable in respect of the recording of musical works, fix royalties or equitable remuneration in respect of compulsory licences, arbitrate disputes in relation to the terms of existing and proposed licensing schemes, and deal with applications for the granting of licences.
